Alison Platt is Chair of Hargreaves Lansdown plc having joined the board in January 2024 . She became Senior Independent Director of Inchcape plc after the company’s AGM in May 2024. She has been a non-executive director and Chair of the renumeration committee at Tesco plc since 2016.
Alison has extensive experience of leadership in customer-driven organisations across the numerous sectors. As Chief Executive of Countrywide, a position she held until January 2018, she gained significant business-to-business experience adding this to the international experience she gained while leading a number of Bupa’s businesses across Asia, Southern and Eastern Europe and the Middle East. She has also previously held senior leadership positions at BUPA (21 years) and British Airways(14 years).
Currently, Alison is also Chair of Ageas (UK), a NED at Spectrum Wellness Holdings and an Advisor to Huntswood.
Formerly, she was Chair of Dechra Pharmaceuticals and Opportunity Now, and a Non-Executive Director of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Cable and Wireless Communications. In the 2011 New Year’s Honours list she was awarded a CMG for her services to the FCO.
Alison was also a member of the steering group of the Hampton-Alexander Review (which became the FTSE Women Leaders initiative).
